I've been stung by bees that got in my jacket (7 times), in my helmet (2 times) and once, I caught one in the face at 70 MPH (Did you ever get carbonated soda up your nose? It burned like that for hours)
I can fully understand how a wasp sting could make you drop your bike in the driveway.
Now, dropping your bike because you were trying to pick up a quarter from the ground at a toll booth (without dismounting) would be really embarrassing (DAMHIK).

Better than completely forgetting the kickstand.. that's the only time mine has been down.

Glad to hear the damage is minimal.

Hey, I want you all to know, my story about my father-in-law is true!

He's not that tough, but it did happen....and I didn't even have to embellish the story.

I got a bumble bee down the front of my partially unzipped jacket, inside my shirt. It stung me dead center in the belly. I got the bike stopped, although wobbling and weaving a bit, along the road without tipping over to let out a dead bee. That was a nasty sting that left a mark.

this story is true too!

Mid 70's - a bunch of us were meeting up at the local Sunoco station in the center of downtown Stamford NY. Gonna ride somewhere. My buddy Fingers was coming thru the light at the intersection and into the gas station on his '40 Knucklehead, lets out a shout and freakin' bails off the bike and starts peeling off his bib overalls. '40 Knuck still upright, doing about 15 mph, and headed toward the pumps and OUR bikes! He's bareass and grabbing his crotch, we're playing "catch the motorcycle" and the girls are all drop jawed ogling the whole thing.

Bee got him on the left one. Swelled up like a coconut.

The ride ended up at my friend Skip's place where Fingers sat in the pond all afternoon and drank about a case of 12 oz. pain medication capsules.

Didn't drop his bike!
