Class size is limited to 9 riders. But they advertise 1-on-1. He was just here for the AHRMA races with one of his instructors. I literally bumped into him in the paddock. Should have talked to him then. I started going to Laguna in the sixties. Will never forget the Maclaren Canam cars or the AMA GNC bike races (duhammel, rayborn, etc.). |

I now have just over 2000 miles acumulated on my new set of BST wheels. In conjunction with the lightweight wheels,i added a cool set of Braketek brand CERAMIC rotors. I noticed a huge difference in turn in and wheelies. Ok,MAYBE the "wheelie" thing is a result of the porting/cams/13:1cr. etc.. in the engine i assembled. The failure issue has been discussed(ad nauseum?)in great detail over on the Ducati "speedzilla" forum. Motowheels, the U.S. distributor has logged two separate failures out of thousands of wheels in service. And the two failures were questionable due to the fact that they failed under "race" conditions. They haven't conclusively determined if the wheel failure caused the crash,or if the crash(cartwheeling) caused the wheel failure. I'm content with MY set. Bling.Bling!! |

Carbon fiber wheels will not get you the noticeable performance gain you're wanting. You're going to swap a very light front wheel with a light brake setup, to a lighter front wheel with a heavy brake setup. |

Duggram, not to hijack the thread but the only track-based schools of which I'm familiar are Reg Pridmore's C.L.A.S.S. and Keith Code's California Superbike School. I've enjoyed them both immensely and gotten a lot out of each. However, I believe I've learned a LOT more useful and usable information from Keith Code. The other schools I only know of by reputation. I wasn't aware Doug Polen had a track school till just now. |

Dug, I read alot of the European mags including Streetfighters and I've seen a great number of CF wheels thrown on bikes including the tube frame Buells. Most of the crowd that build Streetfighters overseas ride the SHIT out of them and I've never read anyone say they wished that they hadn't bought them. I've also seen ads for some brands $3.5k for a set. I do agree that you're not gonna find a bolt up set for the "25r" ,so going the jap part and swap route is the only way you're going to get it done. If you got the time and money go for it ,just make sure you post pics. |

I haven't the first-hand experience of attending a track school, however, many would rank Freddie Spencer's school above the code school. |

2kx1, thanks for input. I'll check it out. Should be fun. Blaz, might be smart to go with the mag front from BMC that use the ZTL brakes. I really don't want to get into fork swapping. Besides as someone pointed out you'd be going from a heavier wheel/light brake to a light wheel/heavy brake. For the rear maybe the chain drive swingarm and Dymag CF. |

2kx1: Spencer's school has an EXCELLENT reputation, but it's only given at two tracks in the country, and it'll cost you... well... not QUITE as much as a pair of CF wheels, but certainly a whole lot more than Code's school (which is taught all over the country and in Europe too). |
