My plan is to run a stock XB12R (with a race kit). I am looking at either CCS or WERA. I am trying to figure out how an an average race weekend is structured and what the ballpark cost is to enter a race weekend (not inlcuding tires, food, fuell etc). 1) Class... Under CCS it looks like I can race Supersport in the Light, Mid or Heavy weights, Sportsman Thunderbike and GTL. Under WERA it looks like Light weight and Heavy weight Twins SuperStock and possibly a Solo class. Due to budget concerns, I am looking at possibly running 2 or 3 classes in a race weekend. 2) Practice... Under CCS it looks like practice time is included in the race fee. Not sure about WERA. 3) Transponders... Under CCS it looks like their rental is included in the race fee. WERA charges $60 per race weekend. 4) Race weekend... Is it practice Sat morn, racing Sat afternoon and all day Sun?? WERA charges a practice fee, which I assume is extra practice on Friday? 5) Daily Gate fee... If I arrive on Sat and don't leave the grounds til Sun, will one day cover it? I take it this will also apply to my support person(s)? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

#1 CCS legal for everything but ultra lite classes. Most competitive in Thunderbike and lightweight classes. Supertwin is pretty competitive do to less modification restrictions. #2 CCS the fee's for racing cover pratices as well. #3 CCS you just need to buy the transponder holder ($5). If you loose the transponder, you're responsible to replace it. #4 CCS. You have 2 practice rounds Saturday, then race. Sunday, 2 practice rounds, then race. Again, that's included in your race entry fee. #5 CCS That is totally up to the track management.
