Okay does anyone know if the wheels on the Buell will fit on a Sportster? I liked the new bike I got and plenty satisfied w/ powerplant, but now that I have wire wheels I am not really impressed. So my question is I wanna put some wheels on the sporty from the XB anyone with a link or any help? |

In fact when I was parting out my '03 XB9S the guy that purchased my triple trees, forks and front wheel put them on his sportster. You will need basically the entire front end, brake setup etc. |

You can make a set of captured spacers to fit the wheel to the axle, but the brake caliper is a little more involved. I don't think the XL swingarm will accept a Buell-width wheel tire. They ran Buell wheels with ceramic bearings on the Cycle Connection Project V. Those wheels would spin (almost) forever. |

The XL swingarm will take a 180 tire, but you'll need a chain drive to do it. I went to a 170/60R18 on my 2004 Sportster with no clearnace issues. Folks are right about the front - you're best bet will be to get an entire XB front end. |

Only the rubber-mount XL swingarm will accept the XB rear wheel. The pre-2004 ones will not, without widening. Bolting on an XB front end to an XL is not difficult. I did it. (Message edited by puddlepirate on September 17, 2008) |
