Does anyone have any recommendations? I basically commute with a few short trips thrown in for good measure. I would like a tire that will give me a fairly long life, but do not wish to lose to much grip. I've read the posts on the D220's and was not impressed. All the tires above are within $40.00 of each other for a set. I would love to get feed back on any tire not just the ones listed above, good or bad. Thanks Matt |

I have Metzlers on my S3 and Pilot Roads on my X1. Both sets of tires are too new to comment on longevity and while they're both good tires, the S3 will be switched to Michilins when the Metzlers wear out. |

I have gone through 3 sets of Metzler Sportec M1's on my XB9R and like them way better than the Dunlops that come with the bike. They last about 2,000 miles longer, are just as good on dry or wet roads. The big difference is that the M1's handle gravel on the road much better. When the tread on the back tire starts to disappear it's time to change to a new one unlike the Dunlops that still have lots of rubber left when the bald band is half way across the tire. |
