HEY! What's wrong with Missouri!? (I lived there 17 years, and never once heard an actual resident call it "Missoura") |

I just like the sound of "Missoura", Plus I have seen one too many Simpsons episodes with Missoura jokes. Oh and this time around the mascot should be the Turkey. (Damn Socialist Eagles!,always taking the Osprey's fish!) |

I haven't met a resident who DIDN'T say "Missourah". All my family does. I lived in Springfield, went to school in Bolivar, and have family in KC, Nevada, El Dorado, Springfield, Joplin, and Cape Retardo. My family is the only one who escaped. I say "Missouree" BTW. |

This Mr. Wales is a cold-blooded killer. He's from Missouri, where they're all known to be killers of innocent men, women and children. Words to live by... |

To hijack this thread does anyone know how the states got their names? I know NC was named after King Charles IX of France, but I've no idea why Missouri is Missouri or Colorado is Colorado. |

I'm having an economic meltdown. It is with deep regret that i had to quit my job today As an already high-strung individual i've been at the end of my rope for months.I can't possibly work any harder running multiple machines and programming/setting up another. Today,i was told i can no longer utilize my MOST valued tool,AutoCad.It seems, someone thinks i spent too much time "playing" with it.It's my most valuable tool for plotting coordinates in space. I can't pull numbers out of thin air.As the only CAD person i also assisted my fellow co-workers plotting complex co-ordinates. I also did MOST of my CAD work ON MY TIME,AT MY HOME,and basically ran CAD in the background when i worked there, and pulled my tool "blocks" into my drawing. I'm profoundly disappointed But i can accept that i cannot change the past and am now DESPERATE to keep working. For NOW,i'm (for the first time in my life) an unemployed CNC/CAD Machinist. Taaaa-Taaaaahhh |

There's a town in my county that was once called "Moron" until they were convinced to changed the name to "Taft". I've heard that it took a lot of convincing too. To get there from where I live I would pass through "Greenfield", "Fruitdale", "Pumpkin Center", "Dustin Acres" and "Derby Acres". Oh, and I'd be pretty close to "Brown Material Road" too! Sadly I'd miss Greater "Weedpatch" as it's in the other direction. |

Please tell me there is not actually a place with that name. It's actually Cape Girardeau, but somehow it's always been Cape Retardo around my house. |

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. Groucho Marx |

You don't see too many in 'white' society - outside the tourist traps. Plenty of inked up warriors around though. |

You don't see too many in 'white' society - outside the tourist traps. I've heard there are quite a few social issues regarding the Maori tattoos more so than regular tattoos. I watched a special on one girl's decision to get one. If I didn't have to look "respectable", I'd be inked for sure. |

Nah - they are very happy to share their tattoos. If they are done correctly. Plenty of ol' white boys are covered in Korus. Personally I'm 'thinking' about adding to the gallery with a Toxic waste symbol on a shoulder blade. My mrs is a CEO and has several large tats. Just not where they can be seen in polite company. |
