80? hell you were dogging it then:D

By the way it was only 40-45 in the ranger:) And the Dynas would handle the gap just fine, no real tight turns, lots of nice sweepers. If semis can negotiate it...it isnt ez but they do, how hard could it be for a Harley?

And as fars as the Speed triple goes, I definately wouldnt bet against one in a race with a Buell. Those bikes actually handle amazingly well & have a sweet assed motor. I think it would come down to who's the better rider & thats it.

ps..In straightline drag race its no contest..the triumph would win easily.

Hey Dyna...I love the sweepers on the Glider. Let's go make lunch meat out of our friends from down south. LMAO

LOL.

Bomber would hold his own just fine. Roger will do good so long as he doesnt freak himself out & do some target fixation.:D There is a little story there, but for another time maybe.

Love em both even if they are FIBs.

Hey...around here, FIB's are my favorite people! At least they bring some intelligence and culture to NaziLand on the weekends.

Just would like to dog them with the Gliders and enjoy the ride. Save the "Pace" for the sport bikes. The Glider dances well but doesn't flow as smoothly as the X1 at speed.

That's FBI to you boyz! (grin)

We found a road that was a detour around some storm damage called the Happy Valley Loop . . .. parts tighter than the gap (much), with the added interest of elevation changes that made the gap and the skyway look tame! . . . . the road would be paradise if it weren't for all the people livin on it (and the sound of banjos coming frlom the structures!)

I never claimed them to be slow or a bad bike, just not my style. I wouldn't mind throwing my leg over a Daytona 955i sometime but that is about as far as my interest for a Triumph goes. In a straight line there is no doubt in my mind that a stock Speed Triple would beat a stock Buell. You have to keep in mind that is not what Buell is all about.

About the long heavy SP3, I never said they wouldn't handle,or that they were slow, and meant no offence...

Bomber, next spring has an opening.

The whole area is loaded with sweet roads & they arent crowded.
You are correct sir.
I know some great roads that aren't famous, but are just as much of a challenge...

btw, Dyna, Grounder's faster than I am, but he's gettin old ya know, and he has a more active imagination . . . . . which is, of course, the bane of motorcyle riders and infantrymen

"2 years ago before the XB's came out you would never have heard anyone here actually admit that.
Sure am glad times have changed & people are more understanding."

First off, it hasn't been two years since the XB9R hit the market. The very first XB9R's shipped to dealerships in April of 2002. Secondly, there have been plenty of admissions from day one by people here including me that certain tube frame models exhibited certain well known, well documented problems.

What we disagree with and have refuted on numerous occasions using actual data are the assertions like yours in the past that all Buells are junk destined to blow up or "grenade."

Never said "all" Buells were junk. In fact I have praised the M2's as probably being one of if the most reliable Buell produced.

And it has been 2 years since the XB's came out...rather I should say its been 2 years since the XB was actually announced. Either way we have known about the bike for 2 solid years now. Unfortunately it took 6 months once announced to actually hit the dealers.

I can honestly say that after 38000km, I have only had the isolator blow out (Offroading in Detroit), rear - shock leak and the rear fender crack. I am not even going to mention BELTS cause I believe they broke from abuse and rocks!!!!

If the motor blows up tomorrow - I'll tear it down and rebuild the damm thing in an afternoon.

I just LOVE my S1!!!!!
