Howdy, I need to replace my secondary/outer clutch cover--- I realize that the latest revision to this part is R1029A.1AM, thanks to this forum! The new clutch cover has a nice oversized puck so you don't grind your clutch cover when the bike slides on the right side... The service manual removal procedure (starting on page 6-12 of the manual) shows a clutch release tool part number: B-49125. I am wondering: 1) Can I get this tool on-line? I checked Chicago H-D's web site (great discounts), but this tool part number does not show in their inventory. I know I could probably go to my dealer, but they don't give me any discounts there... 2) Is there a simple workaround? Can I use a metric spark plug socket for this?! Not sure what the size is, since the manual doesn't mention... For that matter, one gripe I have regarding the service manual is that it does not provide sizes for tools needed for a given fastener (and the parts manual won't tell you the size of the fastener, either!)... saying a "10mm hex wrench" would be far more useful (and safer for the fasteners) than just saying a "hex wrench." Thanks, Takis (Message edited by Pariah on September 13, 2008) |

I would think a Spark plug socket would work if you can find the correct size.
