So, I was in San Diego for the past week on a shoot. I saw Buells all over that town. IIRC, I saw. 2 1125Rs 2 XB12XTs (riding together) 4 XB12Ss (one of these was parked outside my hotel most of the time) 1 CityX 1 XB12X 1 M2 1 Blast 1 XB12R And to top it all off: One the last day of my shoot, I decided to wear one of my Buell shirts. One of the guys I had been working with all week says "Nice shirt", I say "Thanks, you know much about buells?" he says "Yeah I got a Tricked out 12S and a Firebolt" Then I go to fill-up the rental car and the guy at the gas station say "It's an extra 10 cents a gallons for anyone who rides a Buell!" My face contorts a bit in amazement then he says. "I'm just messing with you, I used to have an X1, I wish i never sold it, what do you ride?" I felt like I was in the twilight zone. These things are getting too popular. I'm going to have to HTFU and get a bimoto or sumthin wacky like that. | ||

I've had a couple "strange encounters" as well. My female boss, a co-worker and by my dental hygenist call knew what a Buell was. | ||

I have only had someone say something once...And most of the things I wear around say Buell on it. | ||

I've scratched up the undersides of the mufflers with curb hopping and general chucking it around type buffoonery. All those behemoths are quite easy to ride. It's stationary that they are a handful. That 1950's comment gives me a great start to the article - thanks. true story - after that show I took of for a blat on my own. I was riding down the Freeway out of town when I caught up to an Old timer on an immaculate in-line 4 Indian. I rode beside him for a mile while we checked each other's rides with a thumbs up. I don't know why I don't meet more writers online. I get to interview owners and gauge opinions by forum-ising. Been doing it long enough to have a forum nerd index too. In here you guys basically like what I like. ADV gives me the checked shirts' angle and I hang out in some Kiwi groups for the local scuttlebutt. Then I use what's good in the word count. | ||
