Just did my second track class at Nelson ledges in Ohio. The track is bumpy to say the least. I was most of the day experiencing the bike shaking. I adjusted the suspension several times
and still had the same result. Will a stabilizer (when they come out) help this? Or any other ideas.

BTW.... this bike ROCKS on the track. Second time at the track and the knees were dragging and I'm hooked as hell!!!

I would think a stabilizer would help.

Out of curiosity, what kind of times are you running up there? I plan on doing their schools next year and see where it goes from there.

Make sure you are supporting yourself with your legs and core and not pulling on the bars. Common mistake with novice track riders. Also try to relax, no death grip.

I damper will help, but not if you are inadvertently providing unwanted inputs.

The settings in the owners manual work pretty well at Nelson with the bumpiness, you want to be a little soft there, not harder.

Hard acceleration off the corners with all that HP will make the front very light and you get a little shake if it's bumpy, again don't fight it and relax. this bike is very stable.

I felt the same thing going through the kink on the back straight at Mid-Ohio. I was worried about it at first but I got used to it. It wasn't bad but it made me a little uneasy the first few times I felt it.

I had a nasty tank slapper riding on the street last week that was due to simply hitting a relatively small bump in the road while exiting a turn.

I FIRMLY believe a damper would have prevented my crash. EVERY other sport bike manufacturer comes with them now, and the Buell has the most aggressive rake of them all.

Damper should be stock, or offered at a reasonable price to everyone, not just racers.

Don't forget, dampers have disadvantages too. They increase turning effort for slow speed turns with lots of bar movement, like in parking lots, and can cause crashes themselves. Given, normally at slower speeds.

Normally dampers are set up to help with stability at high speed under hard acceleration where the Buells with ZTRs are normally more stable anyway since they carry more weight on the edge of the front rim than most bikes.

It might have helped with the bump in your turn, might not have. Hard to know without recreating the incident with one installed, and I wouldn't recommend that. ; ) 1 crash is 1 too many.

Some of it was me I know. I have a mental block about turn 4 there. I tense up I did a couple slower laps and relaxed thought more about all the body mechanics, i think I had them more or less fixed ( for my experience level) but still seemed to do it!
Lap times I have no Idea. Its a fast track so I have been told. It's bumpy but 25 minutes from home.

Fasttrax guys are great instructors badlionsfan youll love it.

Ahh, the increasing radius banked left hander. Stanley Corner. Make sure you have your braking and turn in done before entering this corner, and settle the suspension by slowly easing on the throttle on the entrance....then as you are rolling through it add more and more throttle. Last third of it you should be WOT setting yourself up for the Carousel. Keep your body weight forward, especially on the entrance. This corner is all about settling your chassis and throttle control. And it can be taken much faster than it looks. There's a good line through there that get's you around most of the bumps, not bad actually. Fun turn.
