Without knowing the context of the conversation(s), it would be difficult to draw any real conclusions.
While Buell may have 130hp XBs in some prototype form, (i.e.Pro Thunder) or a v-rod motor in an XB frame, it does not mean that they will ever see the light of day as a production motorcycle. |

It's freakin' amazing how many conversations I have where I give away all the future plans. Man, it's getting hard to find time between the calls to do any new stuff that I can tell people about. |

lets just put it this way. Anybody who really knows whats going on with the testing either can't say what is happening or they would lose their jobs , or can be trusted to keep there flappers shut.
I might and might not know some stuff, who knows, either way I would never tell because it just ain't right to do so. Plus my self esteem is fine I don't need anyboosting and I am also not that damn lonely.

Hey, this appears to be the place to shop for omniscient clarvoyance...anyone know what the electric transmission industry will do in the next year? I've had an interesting, albeit in Iraq, opportunity dangled and have been fruitlessly searching for answers, never thinking to ask here....

Bold prediction: Electrons will continue to flow through conductive materials arranged in grids containing generating centers and widely disseminated power consumers.
Except in Third and Fourth World countries (like Iraq) where electrons will continue to be carried, wrapped in bundles, on the backs of camels, women and other beasts of burden.
Oh yeah, the producers and distributors will get paid by the consumers, who will complain about the high prices they're being charged. Except in certain parts of the Middle East, where the consumers will destroy the power grid by sabotage and theft of materials, then blame the USA and Halliburton.
Gee, that wasn't so hard...

There's money to be made in Iraq, but at what cost personally? It can take a huge toll on you, your family, and your way of life.
I'm saying all that and I may go back, just might do it, if my employer hits the right number -- greed pure and simple.
The largest employer currently serving that part of the world is Halliburton / KBR (and I don't work for them either -- I work for another Defense Contractor that epitomizes fair play  ) and they have a position for just about any profession, skill, half-skill, half wits (that's the Project managers,) you can think of. If you do something as extreme as Iraq I highly recommend a negotiated 90 day rotation schedule -- I would recommend less time but you'll never get someone to agree to it and 90 days can be a real pain in the butt. Most want a minimum of 180 days. |

I work for Yavapai County Government in northern AZ ATM. I am one of two bench techs responsible for the deployment of roughly 250 PC's per year. The network has 1000 workstations and 23 server spread across about 15 different buildings linked mostly by fiber and DSL. We have people that head out into the field to fix minor problems, when they can't fix it in the field they bring it to me or my trusty cohort. My last job was basically being an entire MIS team to our customers which included bid design and proposal as well as specing the hardware, building the workstations and servers, making them talk, installing on site, working with third party developers for custom software, and support until they quit paying their contract. I did the system for the largest beer malting plant in the world in Shakopee Minnesota.
I like the security of this job so I would probably have to have about $200K for a six month stint. The reason being that I would have to find a new job once I got back and this is a small town. For a technician, this is the best job in town and my plans are to retire from here. Basically, I would be giving up a lot to do it. |

"I hope everyone is as excited as me by this corporate tune-up." (yep, I was over-freaking-joyed, but at least I made the cut)
"We're down-sizing your department and we're doing this for you! This move will give you an opportunity to explore new areas of IT." (that really means you will now be doing two jobs -- if you're lucky enough to make the cut.)

From what I hear the roads in Iraq suck. We've got some awesome ones here in Yavapai County. Maybe you should take a ride to the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome and think about it. The ride's great and the view from the patio is fantastic. |
