European marketing definitely puts the US to shame. Buell European marketing is definitely a LOT better than the US. There have been TERRIFIC advertising materials from the other side of the pond from Buell. I can probably find this ad in one of my old (English) Superbike mags and scan it, but AFAIK there was never a poster made of it. 1313 |

There used to be a cool S3T add that read, "Hauls more than ass!" |

I don't know, I have a friend who rides his Blast like that ..... PS: I was just chain-yanking. I knew it wasn't a Blast. I was hoping maybe it was the 2010 Blast, though. |

European marketing definitely puts the US to shame. Perhaps that is why they sell so well over there. Does Buell or the Ad agency own that image? |

SWEEETTT!!!!! I've had similar thoughts about Buell marketing and H-D branding. I once asked Flickinger a quextion, and I disagree with his answer. There should be a way to cross-pollinate both brands, especially if the dirt bike is ever produced. Edgy, almost over the PC line is where it should be. Humor and sex will get ya home runs every time. Is that poster still available? |

I don't know.... Most of the US ads for Buell have had me asking "WTF?". Still don't understand the squirrel..... |

I had an stupid squirrel that stopped in front of me on my road yesterday and the little bastered would not get out of my way. (i know off subject but talking about the squirrel ad made me think of that.) |

>>>European marketing definitely puts the US H-D marketing team to shame. That's not entirely the source of the problem. The U. S. marketing team (and I think they are doing a very poor job) is VERY laden with the cumbersome laws of the United States. One of my favorite Buell shirts was the one of Howard Kelly doing the mondo wheelie on the S-1. That stuff really got shut down. I've got all the pics somewhere that Vik (see SacBORG) took when they did the photo shoot on the deck of an aircraft carrier. . . mondo wheelie and stoppie ending right at the edge of the deck. The Germans really have a knack for this stuff and are perhaps the most rabib Buell fans in the world. (Message edited by court on September 07, 2008) |

That stuff really got shut down. PC really is funny ain't it. It's not Ok to use wheelies, but it's Ok to show street racing, as long as there's the fine print about closed course, and pro rider. Sheesh! |

It's the confluence of the American Judicial System and one of America's greatest corporate success stories. You can bet your ass someone would be filing the suit suggesting that they were "just doing what the manufacturer suggested". Common sense and personal responsibility . .. well, should be. |

I doubt we will ever see the motorcompany treating the City-X the way I do Adventure is where you find it. Ride Naked, Play Dirty.
