I'm trying to figure out where the $20'000 is at?????????? easy, he paid retail plus financing, tax & tag.... then there is the polishing, which is expensive especially if you take the bike apart. Then he adds every dollar he's spent on maintenance including tires, oil and maybe gas and tolls too? registration and insurance for years, financing charges, parking fees... So he thinks he has $20k into it and wants $7500.00 for it. People have funny ideas of what counts as "going into" a vehicle, or what "out the door cost" means. (If you finance it, you have to count what the bike will really cost you, not what the receipt says you paid for it. At least if it is dealer financed, they make money on that so it effects the price.) You'd think he could take some spray cleaner to it at least. Hard to wash a picture you stole off the net though...maybe it's a scammer. And to be clear, I am not defending him or saying that he does really have $20k into it where it counts. I've just known people who think that way, at least when it comes time to sell. (Message edited by miamiuly on August 31, 2008) | ||

As a person who has a shitload of money into his bike, this guys is full of crap. I just want to say that I have no idea how much I have into my bike. I'm afraid to add up all the receipts but I'm guessing with the initial purchase of my bike and with all my mods, that I may not even have close to 20K into it. I really have no idea how much I have into it at this point. You can actually tell that my bike has some money into it, this one for sale you can not..........  This is an old picture, I have dumped more into since this picture was taken.  | ||

Ok Clearing the Garage Sale in the same vain.... My Sportster is now 'For Sale' 30 K I will throw in a set of new tires, oil change and hell I will even wash it for you  And its a 2005 XL883R, they no longer make them so you know its rare, with only 10k miles | ||

You can order it black, I am in the process of taking every chrome piece off that bike. It isnt any cheaper than putting chrome on there. I just hate to clean chrome. |
