I bought an 02 S3T a short time ago and oil is leaking from the front rocker box. No big deal as this is an easy fix, but I have a question on the proper gaskets to purchase. The previous owner had all the service done at the dealer and he gave me copies of all the work orders. The rear rocker gaskets were replaced in Nov 2007 and the list of parts include: 10038A, Hose Clamp 16800-84A, Rocker Box Gasket 17353-89, Rocker Cover Gasket 17354-89, Rocker Cover Gasket 17358-84A, Rocker Cover Gasket Lower 26856-89A, Umbrella Check Valve 63858-49, Rocker Box Gaskets In looking through the parts catalog, I can identify every part except for 16800-84A Rocker Box Gasket and 10038A hose clamp. The hose clamp is probably not important but I would like to know what the 16800-84A is. Anyone know if this is a new and improved gasket type? Thanks |

Dirt, The current metal rocker box gasket is 16800-84A This is the one piece metal w/ bonded rubber on both sides. It replaces the two paper gaskets originally installed. I just purchased mine yesterday, and are now installed. |

Thanks Olbolt, After reading your post and doing a search on the part number, I think I've got it figured out. Part # 16800-84A replaces 16778-84B and 16779-84D. |
