i don't have an r. but i did stay at a holiday express last night. there is a third lead for your headlights. i think it is for a running light. it is unused and comes on and off with your key. that is what i ran the power for my gps from. | ||

For those of you that have an XBR with accessories what did you find was most convenient place to pick up power for a plug in? Diagnostic plug. Suitability depends on current needed, but no problem to run a satnav or mp3 player. Regards, Gunter | ||

I don't yet have the service manual (just bought the bike) so I wanted to ask is the circuit that the diagnostic plug is on fused? Also does it run back directly to the ECM? thank you, Bart | ||

To be safe draw all your power from the battery, you can add a relay trigered by that third running light lead if you want to. Last thing you want to do is overheat a wire, and then you'll be tracing electrical problems - no fun. | ||
