Now there is a tough cookie. Attempting to break the world record for bench pressing a motorcycle, all while moving. Get well quick the weather is still too good to give up riding for the season. |

Life isn't about going to the grave in a well preserved body, it's about being thoroughly used up and comin' in slidin' sideways screaming "what a ride!" Hears to you getting better soon. |

And, a one-and-half somersault with tuck and a catch from a prone position with a ditch bench press degree of difficutly 7.9: The scores are perfect 9s all the way across....except for a 7.8 from the Ducati judge! Get better, gold medal Motorcycle Olympics winner. |

Bambi's third day in ICU - She's still stable. She received 2 units of blood today and a unit of plasma. Everyone needs to donate bodily fluids. I finally got to see first hand how important it is. Connie's still in a lot of pain, especially since they cut back her meds as she was sleeping too much. She's developed some fluid in her lungs due to all the intravenous juice she's been getting and they've got her huffing on a airway excerciser of sorts to breath deeper, which should ease the build up in her lungs. She looks like she's been through a motorcycle accident and is bruised up nicely. Her liver is still oozing, but they feel that they have it under control and will continue to monitor her and try to prevent having to operate. She's in fairly good spirits, as good as can be expected anyway and in between dozing off and waking up is as witty (wiseass) as ever. Keep her in your thoughts and pray for the nurses. Thanks, Dan |

I work with patients in ICU and although alot of the healing process is physical, mentality plays a MASSIVE role in recovery. Connie's obviously got something going for her that alot of others dont, and that's SPIRIT. Ride it out, Connie. We're all pullin' for ya. |

Well, Connie's doing better by the minute. She's off the IV drugs and only taking Loritab orally, which also means they're giving her "food". If you can call weak broth and Jello, food. She's on the 'move out' list for ICU and once a bed is available, or they need hers, she'll either be moved to the Intermediate Care Unit, IMCU, or a regular room. She's been able to move from the bed to a chair and is pretty much out of the woods as far as her liver is concerned. Her Kidney is still bleeding a bit, but not a major concern. Her spirits are up and she was asking for her computer. I'll be damned if I have any idea where it might be. She'll be able to receive cards and such once she's moved. She's at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. She's registered under her alternative alias, Connie Richards. Remember, if you ever find yourself in a similar experience, it's all about the spirit. Call Connie, she's got enough for all of us! Last night when I was in there with her sister and she was blowing in her huffer to clear her lungs, the nurse told her she had to work harder to move more air. She said "I'm not supposed to be working, I'm on vacation!" Leave it to her to crack up everyone in the ICU. |

Awesome news! Thanks for the update Dan! Connie, make sure you use your breather-thingy often. It will help you get out of there quicker. And bad things happen when you don't... Melissa can attest to that, it doesn't take long to start down hill if you don't keep up with it. |

I was able to sneak in and see Connie today in ICU, she has her own room. I told the nurses I was her brother. It was funny, you had to be there. They said she could take a walk, so the next think I knew she was out of the bed and we were walking down the hall. She's as tough as they get. Way to go Connie! |
