Couldn't find anything on this list about whether or not the O2 sensors on an '08 can be moved to the same position as the '09. Anyone know the answer to this? |

I dont think moving the 02s will do much.My belief with the 09 changes like o2 relocation/targeted injectors probably will help very slightly .The tune i think will clear 95% of there problems .First off A 1 wire 02 sensor Isnt that great of a enrichment tool. They run 4 and 5 wire o2s on cars now.1 wire are sensors of the past and arent that accurate.they probably only use 8% feedback as a enrichment tool.So as long as they use a single wire 02 sensor it wont change much.Targeted injectors also wont help that much. These are just matched flow rates/injectors.They arent that far off .All the revisions for 09 is a sales gimmick in MY OPINION!!Remember these bikes kindof have a bad wrap with the way they run the first year."COMPLAINTS"Like I say the tune is what will be the ticket here.We are talking about basic obd1 (speed density)system here and this system was put on cars in the 80s.But buell calls this system ddfi3.Bikes are far behind cars in the fuel injection world.Like 20 yearsWhat they need to do is say screw the epa and give her some more gas to keep the thing from hickuping. |

So true Adoog! Yet another reason Buell needs to be in WSBK! In 1 season, they'd figure out all the ECU issues. 1200RR FTW! (Message edited by clarkjw on August 28, 2008) |

I wonder if you would move the O2 to a location that will be detected as a bit lean to have the ECU correct for it and richen the bike up? Just a thought... |

First off A 1 wire 02 sensor Isnt that great of a enrichment tool. They run 4 and 5 wire o2s on cars now.1 wire are sensors of the past and arent that accurate. They probably only use 8% feedback if that as a enrichment tool.So as long as they use a single wire 02 sensor it wont change much where you locate it.And once the bike enters open loop compensation "depending on when they set the tps limit" the feedback of the 02 sensor isnt even used.My whole idea on them changing the 02 location is to keep the heat from burning it up and it was possibly giving bad feedback when run in hot climates. When the 02 gets too hot it will give bad feedback. The only people that know the truth are the techs this is my guess using my tuning knowledge . |
