Motorcyclist gave a Buell a bad review. So what else is new? It would be a first if they gave a good review about a Buell |

My take was different from Motorcyclist as well. I have rode my Uly in a variety of environments: interstate, twisties, off pavement, city traffic. I'm completely satisfied with the performance, comfort and ride-ability of the bike. |

we should get a tshirt signed by all the uly riders at the next big event and send it to them. A big HTFU from guys that are riding it more than for a review |

I'd like to see the kick backs some of these people may or may not get fro certain bike manufactures. |

Yeah Dave. We all know you're getting rich writing those soft reviews for Honda. |

So how about writing/emailing them our more enlightened differences of opinion? Signed off as "aka (your BadWeB handle here)"? Nothing angry obviously, just enlightened. Maybe they might even section off a few responses like they do when they deem a subject worthy. Motorcyclist has never really impressed me, too shallow a rag IMHO. My favorites in the old days were Cycle, Cycle Guide, Cycle World, even Rider when it first got going. |

Before the Uly I rode a Cagiva Gran Canyon. It's engine ran flawless. The shifting was better than any other bike I've ridden. (I've had a few) It handled great in the twisties, BUT! You had to disassemble the whole fairing to do a valve adjustment, a finicky job in itself. The motor made great torque but would only get 39 MPG no matter how you rode it. It was a tall bike but the pegs were too close to the seat to be comfortable for longer than 2 hours. You even had to remove part of the fairing to adjust the head lights! Chain drive, nuff said. Spoked rims so tube tires. Great bike but a maintenance PITA! I bought a Uly. Different torque but still lots of fun. Shifting was better after a proper primary chain setting but it's no Ducati. (I had to do it myself since the dealer screwed it up!) 06 seat to pegs relationship good for 8 or more hours of riding comfort. Will run with the Cagiva in the twisties and get at least 45 MPG. Headlight adjustment much easier but headlight is a joke. Easy fix though. Tubeless tires. As great a machine as the Cagiva was I would take the Uly anytime. Comfort and cheap to own is something I appreciate more than top speed and sophistication. I can't speak for the Triumph but it reminds me too much of the Cagiva! |
