For those of us who use the XB for touring. http://www.luggagelocker.com/elitezippak.html Friend of mine got one of these for her SV650s and says it works great. I'm getting one next month. The Buell XB tank bag swallows alot, but for long trips I've been stashing stuff in my father-in-law's K1200lt. If I am on my own, I'm SOL. Great idea. Wish I'd thought of it. Anyone here buy one of these yet?

On a slightly different track, those of you that use the XB for touring, how do you get over how much weight is put on your wrists? I rode an XB12R this week and while the seating position was very comfortable, it seems like a lot of weight was thrown on my wrists, numbing my hands after only a few miles. Is this something you get used to or am I just not built for this bike? I really like it and want it bad, but if I can't go for 300+ miles in a day it's not worth it. I'm only 6'01" 170lbs. Thanks for your input. Oh yea, I use Oxford luggage for my wife's M2 and am extremely pleased with them. Joel |

I'm only 5'10" but I find the R very comfortable at 65 to 85 mph, the wind takes weight off the wrist and kind of helps hold you up. If I get stuck in traffic and have to ride below 40 mph for long, then my wrist start to hurt and I get some numbning in the hands. It's wierd, but I find that if I keep my jacket loose around my wrist it seems to help in thoes situations a bit. |

i'm 6'4" and find that 250miles is all my ass can take, but i use my legs to take the weight off my wrists. |

Although I have not done more than a 2 hour ride, my wrists never hurt, but my legs get a little cramped at times, and I am 6'1". I couldn't see riding for 300 miles at a shot, but I don't even have the time for that. Still waiting for the 9S pegs to come in. |

Guess it helps that I am short. 5' 7" and (slightly garbled mumbling) pounds. I have had the bike 18 months and have 15K on it. I consistantly ride 250 to 350 at a crack. After about 300 miles, I am ready to throw the seat over a cliff, but my wrists usually do okay, though we spend 90% of our time a 70mph or better. One thing that really helped my wrists was a simple throttle rocker. It is very small (not the wide flat contoured kind) but seems to make long rides 70% easier for me. It helps to use my palm as opposed to the wrist to run the throttle. |

being in the over 6' crowd i am, the pegs from an s helped my leg room out a ton, easing the "cramped" feeling i had. |

You can ease the ergos quite a bit by installing the Lightning pegs which are about an inch lower, installing Heli-bars which bring the grips back about 1 1/4" and up 1", installing the tall (4 inch) Zero Gravity windshield which reduces wind strain against the helmet, & installing the aforementioned Progrip gel grips. American Sport Bike has all this aftermarket stuff & Buell has the pegs. The stock seat is the only long distance limiter for me now. After 350 miles I'm pretty much through for the day. |

I know all about the whole wrist thing. I resolved it with a trip to my local bicycle shop and for 20 dollars I bought those small gloves with padded palms. I also bought cycling shorts, they make a big difference for me whenever I ride over 300 miles.

If your putting weight on your wrists, your not riding correct. You need to learn how to ride without putting weight on the bars. MikeO |
