I have had experience with the closest dealership to me which is Pikes Peak HD/Buell and Colorado Springs HD. Don’t let them fool you they are owned by the same person who also owns the BMW/Ducati dealership on 21st street. I have also had experience with High Country HD/Buell in Fredrick CO. HCHD is by far the best BUELL dealership I have been to in this state. I cannot say anything about Service or Parts because I have never used any of those services yet, so this will focus on sales only. Trying to find someone that can talk intelligently about Buells at PPHD is impossible. I do not know if any of their sales staff ride Buells but I doubt it. They mark most everything 500 over MSRP and in the case with the 1125r 1000 over MSRP. They have very little Buell stuff around and good luck finding it. The one time I used their service department they performed ok. On the other hand HCHD has staff that not only knows Buells but ride Buells. I think there are 4 of them that own and ride Buells. They are enthusiastic about the brand and it seems like every time I go there I am getting something Buell related for free. I traded my 07 XB12R for a 09 Uly recently and it was a no hassle and professional sell. If you are in Colorado and want to buy, look at, taste or test ride a Buell you need to give these guys a try. I promise you it will be well worth it. If you want to buy a bike from Pikes Peak HD/Buell, Colorado Springs HD or Pikes Peak Motorsports or whatever they are called, good luck. It will remind you of a used car sales lot. Since we Buell owners are used to getting crapped on by the Live to Ride, Ride to Eat crowd just remember that we can be our own worse enemy. Do not go into any dealership with an attitude and treat them like you want to be treated. It is easy to get pissed off when salesmen lie to you and the best thing to do is walk out. This has happened to me at PPHD. What is unfortunate about PPHD/CSHD/PPMS is that they use to be a very good dealership for Buells. Of course that was in the 90s and times have changed along with the owner of the dealership. If you have positive or negative experiences with any dealership in Colorado do us a favor and tell us about them. We are all in this together. One thing I have noticed is that the difference between a Buell dealership and a great Buell dealership is usually the enthusiasm, dedication and knowledge of one or two people at that dealership. Very good experience for me @ HCHD about a year ago. Out there on holiday, ended up buying a pr of adventure pants and talking Buells w/ one of the salesmen. Great shop IMO. |
