Well yesterday i was leaving school(bout 30 min after) and as i was riding down a stretch(about 100yrds.) i got on it a little bit(too hard) and there where 2 curbs coming up so i hit the breaks(doin bout 45) as i did the rear locked up and came out from under me (doin bout 30mph) and smacked a curb. Which threw me in the air and when i smacked the ground it threw me up against the second curb...

Thanks to the wide shoulder narrow waist design of the bike, when i hit the second curb i didn't break my leg. All i got was a bad sprained wrist (right side and im right handed). My gear saved my @$$ BIG TIME my boots took the blow from the first curb and saved my ankle from being shattered and my jacket saved my upper body. I was wearing jeans which i wore the next day(lol)...

I tweaked the sub frame about 2in. to the left, bent the rear wheel scratched up everything plastic on the right side (except tank), caved in the clutch cover puck, sheared the right driver peg off, bent the handle bars a little and tore off the right side mirror...THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE!!!!...will post pics if someone can explain how to do so..

All in all i walked away with me life and a whole new respect for my bike... No word back from dealer on how much(est. 2-3000, with labor), or how long hopefully a month at the most...

Jake}

I Knew those Curbs roll in pairs! Glad to hear your gear was able to save you the skin and bones.

Yeah Pictures would be good Jake. Be safe when she's back up to ride

Hey Jake,

Sorry to hear about the bike man, glad you walked away.

GL with the fixing man. Good to hear the gear saved you. Sucks to have that moment of cold tires and itchy palm you gotta scratch with the throttle huh? We've all been there and I hope you get back on the bike a bit wiser, but sooner rather than later : )

Attack-trained curbs are as evil as those attack-trained painted lines!

Glad you're OK (kinda/sorta) and the bike isn't badly bent/busted.

I was riding today before Hanna hit here and almost put mine down on a painted line luckily I caught it (had a flash back from riding dirt bikes and planted my foot, I know that is bad to do but it saved my A$$ this time next time it might break an ankle) but at least Clementine is safe.

Good luck on fixing your bike man glad to hear you are ok.

So u gonna put axle sliders on when u get her back?

Seriously tho, glad you're ok and it looks like the damage isn't real bad. I've been impressed by how well things crash.
