While troubleshooting the 2001 with a 1999/2000 service manual. Is there a whole lot of difference between the 1 year difference. I can see the shock, headlight brkt., speedo/tach compared to just the speedo on the 2000. Is the 2001 manual really different because my 2000 manual was made in 1999? And I'm looking at buying a parts manual for 2000/2001 M2 or M2L. Wow it is confusing with the years. Well I thank you all for listening and any info is (of course) appreciated. BERT |

You should be fine. While there are some changes between those years none really affect the servicing of the motorcycle. There are often a lot of revision/supersessions on many parts over the years but a new parts manual should cover those. |

The only significant difference (from a service standpoint) I can think of is the ignition ECM and the temperature sensor in the cylinderhead for triggering the 'overheat limp home' mode. |

Hey thanks Rick and DJ. I take it the temp senser was absent in the 2000 model? And if that is so they had to change the ECM to accept it (I would assume)in the 2001 model. Any other info? |
