Author Message   Bpt Posted on Monday, August 04, 2008 - 09:15 pm:        I just purchased a 2000 X1. It spits and pops like crazy. The bike has a Scorpion slip-on and a Daytona Twin Tech fuel management. Is this a piece of junk fuel management. It wires into the ECM directly. The check engine light is on all the time also. I am thinking of putting it back to stock and removing the Twin Tech. Any thoughts? Is this the best thing to do?   Beachbuell Posted on Monday, August 04, 2008 - 10:13 pm:        All the problems you describe are linked to the fuel management pack. I'll bet on it. Best thing to do is reset TP first thing,then make sure your plugs are good and plug wires are seated and not corroded.Then look at the head temp sensor and O2 sensor as they can do this stuff. FWIW, I did just install a Twin Tec standalone on a HD bigtwin and it worked well.   Bpt Posted on Tuesday, August 05, 2008 - 07:42 pm:        Thanks. We ended up putting an O2 eliminator on it. That fixed the check engine light and then the DTT could properly be used to tune the fuel. You can by those generic O2 eliminators all over the internet. All it is is a resistor and some connectors. Jeff   Bpt Posted on Sunday, August 17, 2008 - 03:48 pm:        This is more like it. I installed the stock muffler, removed the DTT and it runs great. No check engine light either. Anyone interested in a DTT and scorpion slip-on before I ebay them let me know.
