Was checking some other threads and still a little unsure if the last 5 digits are the serial number or is it numerical production? the last 5 numbers of mine is 00009 Does that mean just that, that mine was the 9th one made? or do they jump around in numbered order? |

One would assume they number them in order.....but you know what they say about assumptions |

I have a Lightning manual. It says the last numbers are sequential so it looks like you have the 9th one built. Whoohoo. If you don't have an owners manual, you can find them on the Buell website under the Owners menu. You'll have to register. |

The complete breakdown is in the parts manual. |

and the owners manual and the service manual and the FMVSS. Does that mean just that, that mine was the 9th one made? No it does not. We are taught to count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 . . . . . . that's not the way VIN's are done. They skip intervals. |
