Does anyone know the size/length oil drain plug for the transmission Buell X1, I need to know because the mine stripped threads and I want to buy a kit Timer serts right and I don't know what could to be the good. Sorry, but I'm from Spain and I have some knowledge about Metric but not Inches. your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. (Message edited by buellisticx1 on August 12, 2008) |

Are you talking about the drain plug for the primary/transmission? Its right about the muffler.. Other wise, the drainplug for the oil bag, doesnt have any threads on it... just clamped into place. Chase |

I myself would drill and tap it out the next size up from the original size whether you use SAE or metric, its your choice. As long as it seals the hole and clears the muffler nobody would know the difference. |

Jramsey, I would can to fix it with the next size, but it would not get the magnet at the end of the bolt and I don't like. Thanks for reply. |

Add up gasket costs and time and you could almost buy a small shop vac and with tubing and with a little imagination suck the oil out!!! |

or lay the bike on its side while sitting on cinder blocks..... Wait, I've done that! Was in a hurry, and didn't have time to pull my exhaust. LOL Plus she gets real heavy after 2 minutes! |

Thanks for the input and for all your help. Mmmi_grad; you have a good idea, yeah!!, I could to try what you says and suck the oil out for the Chain or the clutch inspection cover, I will take into account. Regards. |
