All- sorry if I haven't been quick to respond to your PM's, emails, and posts here. We have a very nasty Trojan on our computers at our other business. We can't run the cash register, swipe credit cards, access the inventory, etc. Basically, we are dead in the water until we get this fixed. The wife is stressed to say the least. I've been up here since Saturday morning at 6 AM. and still haven't been home. Hopefully I'll make it to work on time. I've been trying to get this fixed since Friday night after I got off of work. I appreciate your understanding and I will catch up with everyone as soon as humanely possible. (Message edited by odie on August 11, 2008) |

Odie, I feel your pain. We got hit recently too. We didn't have any real damage like you, but we definitely got an infection that took WAY too much of my time to cleanse, and did a bunch of precautionary stuff to prevent any future intrusions. Robert, I'm with you. Death is too easy on the scum that do this. Al |

Earlier this year, there was an article about a spammer who was killed by the Russian mafia. Apparently, there are certain people you don't want to spam... Addendum: When looking for the article, I found this. Looks like it was a hoax after all. Damn! (Message edited by jaimec on August 12, 2008) |

Not_purple_s2- yes Sir, I did. Thank you. I want to say your generosity is gratifying in these exceedingly busy, hectic times called 'my life'. You didn't have to include the extra but it was very appreciated. Did you receive the barriers yet? After the Trojan got us Friday afternoon I have been working on it non-stop until tonight. I didn't even go to work yesterday. We finally got at least one computer fixed. The main one in the office will have to be reformatted. Our computer guy was working with me thru LogMeIn so he could remotely work on them. He spent the last 3 days working on the issue also. He finally had to get with Microsoft for some help. If anyone gets anything that even resembles "XP AntiVirus 2008" get rid of it ASAP. What a bear. I finally got back into our main computer after going into the repair console and fixing some registry entries. It took a long, long time to get to that point though. I have a big love/hate relationship with computers. Really couldn't live without them anymore though. I appreciate everyone's patience that last few days with the lack of email response etc. I'm playing catch up now...... |

Good deal! I'm glad you got it taken care of! I hope you can catch up nicely! But as stated in my email, feel free to move me to the back of the line on the pipes. I have NO problem waiting and I know others out there probably need there stuff sooner. well, hate to say it but +1 to the mafia one less piece of crap breathing our air! |

Actually, the mafia, and other crime organizations, are the ones usually responsible for virus-laced spam. The identity theft industry pays close to, if not better than, a lot of other riskier ventures these days. Daddy is in charge of network security for a very large company... lots of good stories from that job, if you can get him to lay off the programmer jargon. |
