I am on the fence with this one. I have a friend that wants to get a Buell, but wants to get the most for his money. He found this Buell on Craigs list. Might be a guy here selling it...I dont know. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/763076935.ht ml I think it is a high price for the miles...I think he should wait it out and keep looking. There are some nice upgrades...but an 07' with 23,000 miles. The price may be a bit high, irregardless if he owes more then it is worth. My buddy has a $5000-$5500 budget...we need your 2 cents or 3. | ||

if he wants a 12s with the firebolt front faring, and bars, it might just be worth it to buy that one instead of modding it like that himself. IMHO that's the biggest selling point for that particular bike....if you want it like that. the mileage should not be too huge of an issue provided all the maintenance has been done on time. a fresh set of tires matters more to me. it doesn't matter what this guy owe's on it. he bought it, now he wants to sell it. maybe the money he'll lose upon selling it will teach him to be a less impulsive buyer. it's only worth what someone will pay for it... my .02 | ||

Thats what I was thinking...I found another bike, a 2006 Xb9sx with 4500 miles for $5,000. I think that is a better deal. I know my 12r pretty well, but I dont know much about what potential problems, the non fairing bikes have. Maybe some the experts can educate me. | ||

I have 25K+ on my bike and I beat the snot out of it. My bike runs GREAT but I also change the oil often and try to take care of it. I'm not known for washing it though I don't think that is too high of mileage as long as the proper maintenance was done on it. I'm hoping to get 3X the mileage that I have now on my bike. I think the price is definitely reasonable. |
