I went down to one of the most pathetic Buell shops around, and they stamped 2 forms for me - mine and my wife's. They didn't know anything about the promotion, but they stamped the forms anyhow. Tomorrow, the forms get mailed. Newfie, don't despair yet. I'm working on a way to get you a shirt. With luck, you'll have it before the snow melts. |

i wen't to mancuso's 610 store where i bought my m-2 in 99 and showed my coupon. was directed to the receptionist who called four or five dudes on the phone. no one knew where or what a dealer stamp was. called a woman in book keeping and she came out and stamped it. guess that says something? later edited by philip on November 03, 2003 |

It doesn't take a "special" dealer stamp, it states, right in the communication that was sent to ALL BUELL DEALERS to just use any stamp that shows your dealerships name, like the one you would use for stamping brochures, checks, paid bills etc. Geeeesh, what a bunch of boneheads we have out there. I sent an in house email to all mgrs and counter people so they would know to send them to see me or Craig. You do all realize this isn't just a way to give out a lot of free shirts don't you? Don't these others dealers? It is a promotion to bring PROSPECTS into your dealership, you know, so you might be able to HELP THEM BUY something. Or at the very least make your dealership stand out from the rest. Newfie, Did Spidey already get you hooked up? Ride to the edge! You know, one of the few that know what the hell is going on! Exactly, it's not so pathetic that the dealership Dave/CSG went to didn't know about the promotion, but that they made him wait that long and then wouldn't stamp it AND actually send him to another dealer ??!! Since he was in the dealership already they could have been friendly, explained they didn't know, but stamp it for him anyway, could have made him feel comfortable and possibly at least had a customer who would come back in sometime !! It's not just HD/Buell but ANY retailer that would be that stupid and leave someone standing around that long then refuse to stamp it, initial it whatever they don't deserve customers ! It only takes common sense !! CJ |

This happens every promotion. The dealer has no idea that he received crates of promotional material from mother Buell, and the customer is left feeling embarrased for asking for a t-shirt. This must be rocket science. |

I guess so. I think Buell needs to hire me to personally call every dealer when they have a new promotion to spell it out to them. I could do it in my spare time from home. Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

I can't stop laughing from the pain in my side, my ass, and my neck..... Like dave said any ol stamp will work and they probably have 7 or 8 of those things. but dave you are assuming these brainless idiots at the stores read the dealer communications. man how did to loveable ol guys get stuck in a world surround by all this stupidity. Dave/csg just go back there and tell any stamp with there name on it will work. Check with the office folks. they probably have an address stamp |

Or the dealership has received crates of promotional stuff and only gives it out to new bike buyers. I'm 3/3 for not getting any promo stuff like this. Sometimes it's good to log off late Friday morning and not log back on again until Monday morning. And, as a final note, if it don't fit it don't matter if it's free. Hmmm, kind of like the bike offerings too. Guess I'm demographic'd out both in bikes and in t-shirts. Sorry for the rant, I'm off to research other stuff for a bit. 1-800-HOGBRAG, right? |

If some plans go according to plan I may be spending a few evenings a month down at the Kenosha velodrome next summer. Will have to see what offerings are avaiable then and if any I'll swing by Uke's to see if my odds change. And IL-Buell may be an option if some downtown Chitown weekend visits occur as well. Might be working on a side-path in the Blues/Jazz world once the current school schedule eases next summer as well. Or not, narrow path overcrowded in some ways. |

About what? Sometimes the correct answer is "I don't know". Somethings can only be answered in time. It is now 9:36am. Transition: that time between what was and what will be.

I wonder if the same person who came up with a one-size-only t-shirt offer was involved in the Elton John as the highlight of the 100th decision. |

I got mine stamped today. Heartland HD/Buell no longer has the same attitude. There has been a switch in the Buell sales dept. The new guy is very interested in learning how to get them out the door. I told him to come in here and read-read-read. I also drooled over the Black 12R there. Mmmm this deal ends soon I could sure fit it in the garage over the winter. It would be a lot of work to get it to fit Ben |

Just occurred to me, when this T-shirt promotion is all said and done somebody at Buell is going to have statistics on which dealers supported the give-away, and which ones didn't. In the long run this might not be about free T-shirts at all. |

Or it could be a way to find the dealerships who have a need for non-typical HOG sized clothing. I'm starting to think that somebody just simply screwed up and ordered a whole bunch of single-sized clothing and needs to get rid of it all off the books before the end of the year. I could be wrong and probably am, but anytime in the past where some store or outfit was down to just one size of something then it usually meant that somebody screwed up somewhere. |

What a difference a day makes? I went back into "My dealership" today and what do you know I was about twenty feet away from the parts counter when one of the parts guys looks up calls me by name asks me how the mods to my air cover went. Then when I get to the counter we chat for awhile and he says why are you here and what do you need. I pull out my papers and say well I am trying to score some free T's but I needed a dealership stamp. He says give me those I will get them stamped. I was so shocked but I gave them to him anyway, he does an about face heads up stairs to "High Command" and returns in about a blink of an eye with both forms stamped and says here you go. Have a nice day! I was almost speech-less......how is this possible? (DaveS must have finally called all the dealers cause this parts guy is not internet friendly and I know he doesn't do that e-mail stuff without a fight). But there you have it...its a miracle! What did not exist and could not be done at this dealership on sunday was a no brainer to a parts guy on a monday. Is it possible that "My dealership" lied to me on sunday??? Hey Neffie check my profile and e-mail me your snail address and I will send you a stamped form you can fill in the name and address part and get your shirt why wait till next year? So just to see if this was an exception I went to another dealership (Yes one that also sells Buells). I walk in and am greated by a phone receptionist. I pull out a couple of forms and say I need a dealership stamp on them. She takes the forms and with a self inking stamper she had on her desk stamps both and gives them back and says have a nice day. Wow....this was so fast and easy I should have left the bike running in the lot. "different in every sense" I am a believer DAVE (not that one just another) |

Newfie, the form for your T shirt is on its way to Buell. We used my wife's maiden name and her work address; that way we all get one. As soon as it arrives here, it will be on its way North. |
