I have a 2006 Buell XB9SX with about 11,000 miles on it that I recently pick up from a friend of mine who religiously maintained the bike and had zero problems with it. About three weeks or so ago the bike would not start one morning. Eventually I did get it to start and it ran normally to my destination. When I tried to restart it to return home it again started only after several tries. It has not restarted since then. To make a long story short the dealer now has had the bike for three weeks and cannot figure out what the problem is. Several different codes have led them all over the place, i.e. no spark condition, no fuel pressure. etc. Minutes later different codes are spit out and previous conditions seem to have changed. (Spark one minute, then no spark. fuel pressure five minutes ago but not currently) They say they have replaced the ECM, the crank sensor, and I guess the coil but still won't fire up. This has baffled all the techs (some with ten years experience). They have deduced that it may be something within the wiring harness, like an open wire or bad ground maybe. Have any of you ever heard of such? |
