regarding the sticky throttle.. Mine did that too. It appears the throttle return spring binds. Remove the plastic plate below the air filter and put a couple drops of dry slide (molydendiumdisulfite) on the spring or probably WD 40 and it will work fine. |

Thanks for the feedback everone! I am going to to look at the throttle return spring/ Where do you get the dry slide at? Auto parts store? One less thing to have them look at if I can fix it myself. I am going to have them look at the breaks regardless, a reason to get them to plug it into the digital tech while its in there to see about this possible 2009 DDFI3 update. I complain... but two of my friends just dropped $20K+ on BMW RT's both have had multipled electronic burn outs & warnaty issues... one nice thing about the Buell.. its just a bike.. no crazy power this & electronic that.. just more stuff to go wrong |

Just noticed this on Cycle World, talking about the 2009 1125CR: mapping for the injection and ignition have been updated (new maps are available for the '08 1125R). These changes, says Buell, result in "improved drivability below 6000 rpm, crisper throttle response, improved heat management and significantly improved fuel economy." So that article not only claims the 09s get fixed ECM mapping, but that they're available for 08s as well. Of course that's regarding the 1125s but it's a good sign. http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=3 &article_id=837 |

I think I got the Dry Slide at a dirt bike shop. It had a long metal wire coming out of the top to insert into cable housings. Gun dealers probably sell the stuff also. Its been several months and not a hint of a problem with my throttle. I use the stuff on my clutch cable also. |

I have a case number open from my last call to HD/Buell about the ECM flash stuff. I will call them back before my 8/13 appointment for the melted clutch cable and inquire about the XB '08's ECM. I will let everyone know what I hear/find out next week. |
