I am looking for some aftermarket footpegs for my 1125R. The rubber coated pegs are just too slippery when I am wearing my Sidi boots. It's hard to properly weight the pegs with my foot sliding all over the place. I have purchased the cheap replacement footpegs that you see in the Part's Unlimited or the Tucker Rocky books and have actually gotten good use out of them. I don't want rearsets or some high dollar replacement pegs nor do I want something lower. I am curious if a set of the Pro-teck or whatever knurled aluminum pegs for a Honda/Kawi/Suzuki etc...will bolt right on. They have different part numbers so I was wondering if anyone has done something similar? I did a search but really didn't find what I am looking for.

Buell makes some accessory footpegs that will bolt up.

Yeah I saw those but they are $85. They have the XB series pegs too but those drop the position an inch or so and I really don't want the pegs lower than what they are now.

Call Al at american sport bike. He has lsl pegs and mounts. They are not rearsets and have loads of grip. I was having the same problem you are and this did the trick. You do have to grind a tiny bit off the mounts so they fit. Takes 5 minutes, not hard at all. I love them for the track and twistys.

How much were the LSL's total? I checked the site and it seems that you need to buy each piece(peg and base) separately?

No I am almost positive they are sold only in pairs. Just call the number and they will take care of you.

Charles:

The Uly pegs are deeply cleated/ knurled w/o rubber inserts. If those are too deeply knurled then the "s" pegs are less knurled. Both offer a ~1" drop compared to the stock pegs.
The "s" pegs are P/N N0006.1AD ~$28
The "x" pegs are P/N N0006.1AK ~$80 (new in black)

The "s" pegs have more than enough grip, IMHO, with riding boots etc. If you don't want the 1" drop you can probably talk an "r" rider out of their old one's ;+}

Yeah, I saw the Uly pegs when I was searching ths site. They look wide but appear to offer great traction. I have set of stock rearsets off of an old CBR 600 racebike and I may snatch the pegs off and see how they would fit. If the pegs fit I could order the cheap pegs from a buddy that owns a shop and be in the replacement pegs for less than 30 bucks. I know some of the options out there I just wanted to go as cheap as I could. If the Honda pegs won't work I may order some stock XB "R" pegs and be done with it.

I've had the Uly pegs on Loretta for 5-6 k miles.
Very comfortable.
I give them a big thumbs up...

Do any of the 1" drop pegs have or offer the rubber? I'm wondering about vibration, I don't really want anymore than I have now but I'd like more room.
Maybe I'll try the wider Uly pegs. Zac4mac seems to like them.

Zac4mac, they don't look out of place, so to speak, on 1125 compared to the stock ones? Of course I realize it's a personal opinion, would like the input.
Thanks.

I guess if you've got to have skinny, minimalist race pegs, they look out of place.
I personally, don't think so.

I find them more comfortable over a wider range of pressure.

I've been doing more distance riding than twisties lately, but they were fine on the couple of laps we got at Road America.
I got well into the pitchforks on the left side and grazing the tops on the right.

Nope, don't need the skinny's. I prefer function first long as looks are within reason.
Thanks, Z.

Width isn't a Problem, I Just don't want to lose the inch or so of ground clearance. When I 1st started roadracing I would pay 4-500 bucks for some rearsets to get the pegs to go up an inch and since I will use this bike on the track extensively, I would hate to know I paid nearly 100 bucks to go the other way

mad,
it is real easy to put the stock pegs back on for track or race days and the lower, wider for street. i pull the mirrors, rear signal and plate holder, tailight and the headlight connector for the track. less to pay for in a tipover.

Ahhh, but it's the rubber coat stockers that are causing me the problems. Comfort isn't issue with the stock pegs, it's just the rubber gets a bit slippery. Lower and wider for the street usually sees me on my Street Glide

give your sidis about 3 or 4 years to wear the rubber off the bottom, and then they will grip your pegs just fine... : )

I was told by Tony Stefanelli at homecoming the plastic on the stock 25r pegs are for reducing heat transfer to your feet. He said they do nothing for vibration reduction (hard plastic).

When I go to the track, I put on stock XBxR pegs. They are cheap, light, and give plenty of grip.

Use the pegs from an XB12R. They will bolt right on (from what I understand) and be as high as your stockers.

Exactly the same as the 'S' pegs but without the 1" drop.

The XB12R/S pegs have been known to bust if you put too much strain on them while riding. It's never happened to me though.
The people who have switched to the lower S peg report that a very small and easy amount of filing is required.

The 1125 pegs get VERY hot so I see why the plastic (thank you BMC!).

The softer plastic/rubber Traction Pegs (aftermarket BMC on their web site) should have more grip than the stock pegs, still insulate from heat and provide a bit more vibration reduction if you are looking for that. Same peg height. Shouldn't take more than the same small amount of filing the R/S pegs do if any (I would think).
Downside is I bet they wear out a lot faster.

Modav8tr, you could try your passenger pegs and they're free.
