Hail and well met to all! The latest "Friction Zone" magazine (a free publication here in Southern California) has a test report on the new Buell XB12S. Said test included a nine state, 4,100-mile tour on the 12S, and the bike did quite well by any one’s standards. The fuel economy was excellent, in that it ranged from a low of 40.6 mpg, to a high of 66.2, with an average mpg of 54.8! The Toad has yet to make a decision on a new bike, having recently sold my GL500I Silverwing, I am that much closer to a new large displacement motorbike. Now then, if only insurance were more reasonable on this bike. It is much cheaper to insure a Buell than a Guzzi, as I was quoted $1,432.00 per year for a Moto Guzzi California Stone, versus $710.00 to $965.00 per year for an XB12S. Any way, I thought you would appreciate hearing of a favourable review of the new Buell, as it only serves to show that these bikes really are fun, reliable, and "tour-worthy" motorcycles. The Lord be with you. The Toad
