So, I drop my bike off at Sheldons this morning (7:00am) for the headlight recall. I just called them and asked if it was ready, they tell me it won't be ready today that I was a drop off/walk in. I explain to the guy I made an appointment a week ago and the kid told me I could wait, but I wanted to leave it for the day so they don't rush anything. He tells me "I'll call you when the bike gets done" I should have realized what stooges they have working there when I made the appointment and I asked the kid if he wants my info(name, phone number and bike model) he said "no I don't need it" (Message edited by 03worc9r on July 28, 2008) (Message edited by 03worc9r on July 28, 2008) |

I've spent my last pennies at Sheldons...their service and customer service at the front store is horrable (sorry Eboos...but that's what it's been)...ordered wrong parts, didn't order parts, sold parts I ordered (special too not just oh we're out ordered). Anyway...looks like another crappy week for weather again... |

Ya Chip we run up threw Plymouth out to Newport or until one of us has to run home to the wife. We start in Middleboro for breakfast. Since rte 44 is down it's a nice run. |

Hey guys'. Damnut and i have spoken twice this week about a nightime ride. Thursday night at "Rendesvous Leathers" bike night on rt.146a in Uxbridge Mass. C'mon out,we'll stop for a beer afterwards. No drunken riding, just a beer or two. It'll be a good time in this summertime heat. Weather? |

I'm in for a night ride. "Rendesvous" ( http://www.rendezvousapparel.com/ ) usually has a really good bike night on Thur. We will just have to watch the weather. I just looked on wpri.com and they are saying maybe some . What time would we be meeting? |

DYE job tonight! From white to black. Got my super ghetto die tub all set up, with "heat retaining" outer barrier, and "thermal lid". AKA a trash bucket swaddled in blankets. I did a test die on the fly screen, came out great, but note to all others, do not clean with denatured alcohol afterwards, it will streak the dye. Window cleaner or Pledge work ok. Wish me lucK! |

What's up fellas, I can't find my Cyclone book right now so I thought I'ld pick your brains. My brake light stays on when I use the rear brake, but it doesn't affect the light for the front brake's lighting at all. As of now it's only an intermittent problem. Any ideas? Thanks (Message edited by Pitbuell_ma on July 30, 2008) |

PitBuell,i'd say it's your rear brake light SWITCH. I very recently I couldn't get ANY light from either front or rear on my X1. I found both of my switches bad.Funny,BOTH bad. Fine now. The reason i suspect your rear switch is bad is because, you depress the brake and it lights up.When you let off it doesn't? For the $10 you should try the switch. It isn't switching. |

I got the new headlights in my bike but after a little inspection when I got home I noticed the high beam is a little loose. (low beam is nice and tight) Along with grease on my front fairing and mirrors etc. I will attempt to tighten it my self so I know it is done right rather than to deal with those goof balls at sheldons again. |

Now,Jeff, that's the SECOND story JUST like that! I'll do as a good friend did.I'll demand they hand them to me and i'll sign off as done. Nobody wrenches my bikes 'cept me.NEVER been in for service.Well, except when i needed porting and dialing my cams Switch out the switch and you'll have a switching action at the new switch |

Die job looks Slick You can faintly make out where the buell stickers were. I'm going to try and buff it out with the special buff stuff, whatsitcalled. But the color and shine/finish is nice. If anyone wants to die theirs black i got a big insulated tub for doing it full of black die that worked great. My touring seat finally came in too, and i finished grinding on my fender today, so sandblast and paint tomorrow. BTW i have access to fine and coarse grit sand blasters at work and can usually fit in a small part or two if anyone needs during the day. |

Glad to hear the plastics turned out good. I would have never even thought about dyeing plastic. Do you think it will hold up to the sun? So what's the lowdown for tomorrow nights ride? Where? What time? |

There are some photos on the boards of a red/orange dyed firebolt, with 1 year later photos that still look good. I bet black would produce a more noticeable fade over time. The Novus 1 and 2 did nothing to the dye and actually improved the look of the finish. |
