I am not surprised that Stoner was booed by the fans at Donington, although I don't condone it.

He is arrogant, petulant and rude at best, and treats his fans and other riders like they were somthing he just trod in. He has won one world title and now thinks that he can treat people like dirt.

He needs to learn some manners and could do worse than learn them from Vale : )

And I always thought (even though I wasn't rooting for him) that he seemed like such a nice young kid... I guess success has gone to his head.

There are many Rossi fans in Britain.

They are the ones being rude, not Stoner.

They are the ones being rude, not Stoner.

British race fans are some of the keenest in the world, and are very rarely anti anyone, regardless of nationality. However, Stoner has been behaving like a spoilt child since before he won his world title. A little humility never goes amiss, and in his case he needs a lot of it just to catch up!

Stoner complains about other riders when they 'get in his way', complains about his team when they 'cost him victory' by making wrong tyre choices, complains about his team mate and makes disparaging remarks and gestures to him, complains because the paying fans get in his way between the motorhome and garage (some even have the temerity to ask for an autograph!), complains about the lack of grip and general state of circuits almost every week, complains when he 'only' comes second, and finally complains because he gets booed.
Get over it and grow up.
He may be the fastest rider at the moment, but he would not be on my team shortlist as a rider even if he is the best (which I don't think he is anyway of course).

I agree that the track invasion at the end of the GP was appalling, dangerous and not up to the usual standard expected at British tracks. Once upon a time this kind of thing was seen exclusively at Spanish & Italian races, but it now seems to be common practice around the world.

The organisers must now start to consider putting up safety fencing to discourage this behaviour, or the GP will be moved to another circuit where it cannot happen (Silverstone is already bidding for the GP after 2010 apparently).

The behaviour of the 'fans' at the British GP is not representative of British racing supporters in general, adn a lot of people who attend the GP only go to that one race all year. They have absolutely no idea of what constitutes 'good' crowd behaviour and so need to be corralled for their own safety.

Another way to stop this happening would be to have the feature race earlier in the day instead of being the very last race. That way spectators would think twice before venturing out on track.

Note there was no track invasion when Scott Redding won the 125 race earlier in the day to become the first British winner of ANY GP in over 8 years.

Stoner is putting up sick times at Assen FP1. Hayden is a close second. If Hayden's team stop triggering warning lights to help Pedrosa, he might have a really good showing.

Ya know...if all I'm reading about the Cr*p honda is still doing to Nicky is true ,then my respect for honda is fast dwindling.....he has stuck by them through thick and thin and it looks like they deserve to be shelved by the top riders.
I for one truly hope that the rumours about Nicky going to Ducati are true!
And WOW...I wasn't aware Stoner was acting like such a little creep either!

The King of Electronic Rider Aids is once again smoking the timesheets in Assen...

Speaking of which... I'm not so sure Ducati would be a good match for Nicky. He works best with FEWER electronics with his "Back it in" style of riding. He might end up being as frustrated as Marco on the Desmosedici. I think Nicky would enjoy riding the M1 myself. Of course, that would mean replacing one of the Yamaha men and right now I don't think Yamaha wants to lose any of them...

Yamaha doesn't need Hayden.
I think he'll go to Ducati because:
-He must leave HRC
-Rumours of a Ducati jump will at least lead to talks, if they were originally baseless.
-Melandri is out.
-Stoner, a dirt track rider like NH is a great success. Casey also "backs it in" better than anyone. If you watch the 2007 races, you'll see he's not just a sweeping smooth line guy. Annoucers were in awe at his rear break use. Stoner works his bike.
-Hayden wants more power.
-Hayden MAY NOT hate electronics as much as it seems. That is the default excuse for poor results, many of which are really attributable to a build that would prefer a robot(read Pedrosa of MotoGP Academy pedigree, who fks up an unnesecessary pass of his on m8).

Oh, and they all use electronics. You should see Stoner at a place other than Seca. He's a fantastic rider who pushes his bike hard. If you get a chance, watch the Jerez race. That's one tenacious rider.

I remember Stoner when he rode on the RC211V which didn't have the sophisticated electronics package he enjoys now. He spent almost as much time in the gravel as he did on the pavement.

BMW must have a stack of spare bodywork already just for Rubens to trash : )

Signing him was a well kept secret though wasn't it! Last week the rumour was that they would get Corser from Yamaha.

Shows comittment from BMW to sign him for a 2 year deal, and it shows that they expect the bike to be competitive from day one : )

I've come to like Ruben more & more over time; he seems to have matured quite a bit. I think Fogarty had helped to inflate his ego early on, but a few years as a "privateer" really seems to have mellowed him out.

Bayliss is awesome, but Haga remains my favorite WSB rider.

After Rossi's crash, the title is still open. This season gets better and better.

Assen was the best performance Hayden had the last 2 years. His ridding was really spectacular.

Maybe in Laguna he wins and finds his confidence.

Edwards got the podium, that he lost from Hayden 2 years ago. It is ironic.

And one could see the venom in his post race comments. I liked colin up till then. The texas queef (whirlwind days ended with the great battles with bayliss) hasn't been much of a performer in GP all these years.
