Where did you get the pads on the frame/airbox cover? What are they made of? The unknown part looks kinda like a shroud for the exhaust, but why would you want/need that? Also, how is that mounted on the seat? | ||

I think it's just black fiberglass, but two holes and a little bending of some aluminum stock I got at Lowe's and it ought to be good to go. To bad you can't have the kickstand and the bellypan tho... | ||

Nice. You beat me to it.(sort of) Do you take the seat off with the case or does that plate allow you to detach from the seat? I was just wondering if you carry another seat in the case so you can cover the tail section when you remove the case. | ||

Or, rather the other Neal, or uhm, nevermind) I bolted the quick-release plate to the old seat I bought and that seat will stay on the bike when I'm "working." Now, it would be rather painful for someone to sit on the quick-release plate, but I am not going to plan for that. When I get time, I'll take this seat apart and make more of a dedicated mount to hold the trunk slightly lower and farther back. | ||

BTW, these bags from Aerostich:  work quite well, too. You can snug them up against your body so they don't move at all. Plus, they enhance visibility from the rear and don't impede air flow through your jacket like a backpack. This is my laptop transport solution... | ||
