Does anyone know what kind of sending unit was used on the RSS models and where it was located? I'm planning to add one to my S3T and would like to install it in similar fashion. Thanks, Dave |

As per the book 25 Years of Buell By Court and Dave it is located above the Speedo and the Tach in the middle of the gauge pod. Don't know about the sending unit though. |

I think it was an SW gauge from the local autoparts store. It was mounted at the top of an RSS-specific dash. In an S3 you could replace the clock, otherwise you need to drill. |

I do plan to replace the clock with the oil temp gauge. I am wondering where might be the best location for the sending unit and what type of sending unit would work best. |

Sorry, I can't read. I don't think my RS manual lists RSS parts, but I'd mount it with the existing idiot light sending unit under the oil filter. This would be a good question for tuber racers or a Sportster site with LSR/racer types. Have you done a search in the archives, I think this came up back in the day. I wonder if Aaron, FMJ, or |

>>>I think it was an SW gauge from the local autoparts store. That is correct. Last time I looked there were plenty in stock at EFB Designs. |
