I spent several hours troubleshooting an electrical problem that was simply a blown fuse. I had pulled the left side covers to install an airhorn (which wouldn't fit anywhere - darn!). Once the bike was back together, I went to fire it up - nothing. I could hear the starter relay click, but no start. I pulled everything back apart to see if I had accidentally unplugged something. I traced all the wires, checked all the fuses - nadda. I scratched my head, pulled out my multi-meter, everything tested fine. 3 hours later, I realized that when I turned on the key, I didn't have headlights. Hmmmm... upon pulling the lighting fuse, it was toast. Don't know why or how, but when I replaced it - the bike fired right up. Moral of the story - no lights, no ride! |
