Onahog, I saw that bike when they got it. It had been stored in a barn. A not so good barn. Every seal on that bike is leaking and all the rubber is falling apart. It is not rideable by any means. I offered to buy it from them when they brought it in but they think a collector is going to buy it or something... 15K for a bike you have to rebuild to ride is a tad high. If I was going to pay 15K I would buy yours!!! |

BTW: At one time I was going to put together a RS RSS list and started with info from this site. If someone wants to take this on here is a file to get them started.

FS.. Funny they dont mention that in thier add...I guess it is a great bike for a complete refresh then, but as stated, $15g is way too much then...I pretty much doubled the cost of mine by tearin it right down and goin thru every part of it.. I had to completely disassemble all brake calipers and all...Sitting in a dry good place isnt even a good thing for a bike or car....It looks like a primo body etc tho...& I personnally love white bikes...Hb |

Thanks for the inputs. I should have posted my email so you can send inputs directly to me or just post them. My email is f_skinner@yahoo.com Actually Hank I know which one I want and when I got ready to pull the trigger my GF lost her job, now she is in school so it might have to wait. I hope it is still for sale when I have the cash..... Frank |

Frank...How far do you live from that white 1991? Is a kinda list possible on what you think of it by viewing it super closely? Do you think $$$$$ would make them shift on there asking price? i emailed the sales guy, but no reply yet. Hankb... |

Hank, I actually saw it today but did not really look at it real close. I did when they got it and can tell you every seal and gasket is bad. All the rubber has rotted and there is some cracked bodywork on it, the brakes leaked on the PM wheels and they have rust on them. It looks great from a distance. I offered them 4K for it but no deal. I believe it is on consignment from a so called collector. He also has a 77 or 78 XLCH and a few older Sportys and Big Twins at that shop. I know one of the owners of the shop (I do not trust him) but he thinks a collector will buy it. I keep meaning to get the VIN off of it and might next time I am down there. It does have 111 miles on it but that is not a plus for me. There is another with one up in the North part of town in a bike display near Pikes Peak HD. I want one I can ride. I would not buy that one unless it was a really great deal. The next time I am down there I will bring a camera and take a couple of pics up close.... Frank |

Frank...Thx for the info... From the photos, yes it looks great.. From your description , i can relate.. I have seen stuff sit in sheds and barns etc..Oxidization everywhere..inside and out.. Mine was defienetly in a dry enviroment... I did have to go thru the whole bike, but it was mostly for my personal analizm... I was very pleased with the end results, and it really didnt take to much to get it to the point of being the clean rider it now is... There is no cracks in my body at all...It has tiny paint bubbles and small scratches from being used , and some stone chipping etc, but overall quite sweet.. Internet photos are definetly deciveing tho..Everything looks great in em... I see the 1977 XLCR they have as well... I redid one of those a few years back...# 97 to be exact...It was a kewl bike as well, but really powertrain those iron heads were.... I still have a f..ked up knee from those 1970s style kick only sportys....Pans and knucks and shovels didnt help either tho... If anything, i can get Eric the saleman there going...LOl... Thx for ur input Bro...I think I best just keep # 59 for now...Im sure all the 1100 people who have viewed it on ebay , none will step up to the plae at $15 g anyhow.. The Ebay Auction has helped to expose how wonderfull these bikes were crafted and really how much intrest there is in em... I plan on flipping my plate from my S2t after sturgis, and putting some riding into the RS to see what they are really like.. From the 125 miles I have put on it, the thing seems to wanna lope along at 90 mph @ about 4000 rpm...and loves it.. You outa try this little monster out.. I built it from a pocket bike...110cc 4 speed...Death on wheels..Lol... Have a Good one...Hankb..

Frank....I will keep ya posted... I said in my email to them that i heard the bike had deterioration of rubber parts , seals etc...as well as cosmetic imperfections...and that it prob wasnt road worthy..I also stated that there is specfic documentation required to import it to Canada , such as a recall notice completion from a Buell dealer or the Buell factory... They told me they had a very busy wknd happenin with some show or somethin and would send me the complete info, etc on tuesday...Some guy named Eric was the responder.... Guess we shall see what he comes back at me with.... Mine didnt end up with any bids on ebay...Just 1 guy from Holland inquired about shipping to him... It had 1485 hits on it tho...That proves the interest is there on them... I didnt epxect it to sell, and didnt really want it too....But,As stated, this white one has caught my eye... I have had alot of white bikes over the years..Mostly birch white police units, and my sweet 1995 S2, which i regrettably sold a few yaers back... Anyhow, I will keep ya in the loop on it...Hb |

Onahog, The blue RS that was at Homecoming is owned by a friend of mine. He's Email savvy but doesn't check BadWeB, so PM me and I will give you his Email addy. It's a 1990, but the bodywork is updated to the later RS bodywork. With the different front fairings between the 1992 Japanese RSS and the rest of Buells production, the 3 piece front fairing proved more efficient. I, too, was quite pleased when I noticed Jeff has over 50,000 miles on it. 1313 |
