Hey all, I thought I would share with you the new Hard Anodized Sliders I got for my 1125R from DarkHorseMoto. I think these match the scheme of the 1125R great. They are black and allow for spool type rear stands to be used. Fit and Finish is top notch as usual. I like them a lot!    | ||

Nice, I have a buddy at he machine shop at work making a pair of sliders for me imitating the Darkhorse designs. Imitation is flattery and all that. I've seen lots of pics of them installed but how do the mate up? Do they fit far into the axle for support or do they just screw into the rod and are held in place by a short section? On my design I wanted to make sure the sliders we snugly fit in the axle and in a crash the rod didn't come under any significant stress. This made the designs for the left side considerably longer than the right. And now I know what my rims will look like when I get the stripes applied I just got.  | ||

Blacksnowman, More power to you trying to make your own. I have seen lots of home-made sliders and frankly I think a lot of them look cheap (not that yours would be bad looking  ). I just know that getting the DarkHorse sliders I am getting the real deal, engineered and tested product. The good thing about hard anodizing is that it is better and more durable then powder coating. Thus, its less likely to chip or scratch with he use of rear spool stands. Cheers. | ||

Those are cool! I don't want to Pirate the thread but where do we get the red wheel strips? I ordered the same sliders ( the chrome or aluminum) and they are well designed, go on easy and fit very well ........ | ||

Ya, mine aren't exactly going to be home made. They're being machined on a CNC lathe by the best CNC machinist in our shop. I got all the measurements and designed them in SolidEdge and had them looked over by a buddy who's a mechanical engineer. That's a lot of resources most people don't have access to so I'm taking advantage of it. It's good to have friends in the aerospace industry. If I didn't have all that at my disposal, I'd definitely be getting the Dark Horse Moto sliders, and almost did anyway. They make good stuff. (Message edited by Black_Snowman on July 10, 2008) | ||
