This is one of my very favorite rides.

Very little traffic, awesome views, well paved roads, lots of twisties.

Gas is available in BZ Corner, Glenwood, Klickitat, and White Salmon.

There are several restaurants along the way, or pack a lunch and stop at any of numerous viewpoints.

I can't really express how much I love this route. It's one of the best.

Nice route. We will need to make this trip.

Now just for the return route. Over to hood river and then over 35 to government camp into Sandy?

This was my return route last time.

We went on memorial day monday, and when we got to hwy 26, traffic was backed up all the way from portland to mt hood, so we decided to take the scenic route.....
It is beautiful and fun, but i certainly don't recommend doing the whole thing in one day, unless you have a REALLY comfortable seat!

Ironically, when I did this route, we also made a wrong turn and drove into deep snow.

Just a little over 300 miles. No problem for one day.

Start 7:30 am Finish 5:30 pm with 6 - 1/2 hour breaks or a long lunch break in the Dalles and a few smaller breaks.

Sounds like a plan.

Who's in and when can everyone free up a whole day?
