I like the idea of mandatory rider training before issuing a license... now if they would only do the same for auto licenses. |

We have a helmet Law, Yes you don't have to wear a helmet but are catches. You need to be at least 21 years of age and have at least $10,000.00 worth of medical coverage insurance to be able to operate or ride upon a motorcycle without a helmet. http://www.abateflorida.com/helmet-law-faq.php |

Yea, I know.... The fine is a $175.00 dollars for each rider btw... All they need to give you the ticket is you not having your health insurance card or copy of your policy... Largo Florida did a crack down a year ago popped over a hundred bikers for a multiple violations from helmets to tags to exhaust etc.. |

Yea, Its Sucks I'm Pissed From what I understand AMA and others is working on getting those last two repealed... Who knows? I've lost faith in florida abate, they raised hell on the helmet laws but IMO this is the biggest ball they have dropped yet I don't understand having double standards when it comes to vehicles and drivers... I wouldn't have problem with it if applied to all motor vehicles on the road... Florida is already doing this with people with CDL's, more points for same offenses and not being able to take classes for points.... I've been wanting to get rid of mine for years but I have keep it because I'm a first responder for work. |
