Jim and I had a nice ride on Saturday. I left the house at 7:00am and meet up with Jim in Seven Lakes. Jim took me on a tour of the back roads between Pinehurst and Asheboro. I didn't get home till 4:30pm and after more than 8 hours and 400 miles on the bike, I was one tired puppy. Both of us forgot our digital cameras, but I did get this one shot of the Pisgah Covered Bridge with my cell phone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisgah_Covered_Bridge I had never been there and really enjoyed the little park.

Shawn, thanks man! I'll be looking for a pm. Kristi, I hope Carlos and Webe make it back safe and dry. Do you want me to mail the strap? I have no use for it anymore, the S/S drummer bolts on in front. |

when Denise showed me the weather forecast this morning, with the threat of "severe" isolated thunderstorms in the area, i said, "I ain't skeered!" this afternoon, whilst me 'n D and Carlos and Webe huddled under the Roanoke Star and marveled at the massive rain and lightning, she made me eat my words. does anyone know what wine goes with crow??? somehow we managed to stay dry, and even more miraculously we were later comfortably ensconced in an Outback Steakhouse when hailstones the size of marbles plummeted from the sky and skeert me all over again. somewhere during all this, Denise reckoned maybe i'd become "unignorant," which i took as quite the compliment. i'm pretty easy that way. anyway, if one of us ever tells you you're becoming unignernt (that's how you pronounce it up here in the mountains), wear it with pride and know you're in good company. :-) we're all ignernt enuf we're still not sure what it all means, but it made us giggle like kids and it helped passed the time while we watched the hail stack up and the tide roll in. pix to come. :-) |

Well smokeout was fun, not as much fun as past years but fun, got two runs on the 1/8th mile strip but they were not running the tower so I had not times, I got beat once and won once. While walking through the crowd spotted ne XB with a Helmet with a C3 sticker on it...that was cool. and there were enough cops to choke....well a pig |

I can say I am now unignert. What an awesome ride, rain didn't bug us too bad.But that darn muffler clamp did.Plumbers tape works every time. 2 miles down the road after I left Carlos, thought I hit a bird with my helmet,it was just a gigantic moth. Later, Webe P.S.Ferris,it scared the SH*@ out of me. |

I've been under that star and took the same pictures. How long did it take you all to get up there? It wasn't well marked when I was there. I just kept heading "up." |
