This may belong in the knowledge vault but I need to finish this before tonight.

My 03 9r killed a speedo sensor last week. The dealer ordered the y0199.k kit for the 5v regulated sensor and the directions are a bit to be desired.

1. On the 9R once I unplug the Gray wire from the ecu on the black connection it does not have me plug it back into anything. Is it necessary to disconnect it here since the lead at the sensor is unplugged and insulated? According to the service manual this is also power to the coils and needs to be plugged in.

2. Is the R/W ground wire with the resistor needed? The instructions don't have this going into anything either once it is put in with the Gray wire that was removed for the ECU connector.

3. The instructions don't say to plug anything back into pin1 of the black ECU harness, once the rest of the kit is in place.

Am I missing something???
Am I being pointed to the wrong Figure, in the directions?

The X1,S3,M2 Figure looks like what I am working with not the 9R figure, like the directions tell me.

Thanks for the help in advance

WOW, I didn't have any of that, I used the 06 Sporster speedo sensor and it was a direct fit. Is the part for the correct year model?
