Well, I think it's the sending unit, located under the oil filter? It's a fitting about the size, as big around as a quarter, and screws up into the bottom of the oil filter housing. Is there supposed to be an o-ring that screws into the housing with that fitting? I've got a really annoying oil leak there. TIA,... |

That's the sending unit. There's no o-ring, but when I replaced mine I used thread sealant (not Teflon tape). |

+1 on thread sealant. It's pipe thread - a tapered fitting, not straight. If it's a bad leak, pull, seal, reinstall. If it's a weep, just give it a little twist to tighten and it may do ya. |

Alright, thanks guys. I'll seal her up and reinstall. |

don't tighten to much! my engine case cracked at the thinnest part, and I had to weld it up! |
