Hi All, I have xb9r 2003, and I am wondering if the cooling fan is working or not. I use my bike to go to the school. To go to school, I use the highway for 5 minutes and ride in the city for 10 minutes. The cooling Fan was turned on every time when I got to the school in May and first half of June. However, in these days, the cooling fan was not turned on after I got to school..I checked Engine Lamp every time before I ride the bike and Engine Lamp looks fine. I just took 1 hour service 3 weeks ago and I do not want to take 1 hour service again... Do you have any idea if the cooling fan is working or not? Thank you very much and best regard |

I would say that your cooling fan or its related circuitry/sensor(s) may have a problem. It's is definitely worth having checked by your dealership. |

Dear Blake and all buell biker, I found another problem. Today, When I go to the school, I inserted the key and turn it on, then I turned the main switch on. Then, TIME and TRIP were reset... I guess the problem is not only cooling fan, but whole electronic system.. Is there anyone who has similar experience? Is there any advise? |

make sure your connections at the battery are clean and tight. If the connections are good, your battery may be suspect. |

Also check all ground strap connections. |

Today, I went to H-D dealer and tell them about cooling fan. They suggested me to ride 1 hour at high rpm. I followed their suggestion and after I parked my bike, The cooling fan turned on! Thus, there was no problem with the fan... Thank you for all your advises. I did everything you advised me before I brought my bike to H-D. Now, I am surprised that dropping only 10 degrees can affect cooling fan switch. Again, Thank you very much for your advise. |
