Hey, I have a 98 S3T and I think the rear brake caliper and/or master cylinder need to be re-built. I have replaced the pads but I'm not getting much pressure from the brake pedal for the piston to clamp down on the rear rotor. I don't think the cylinders have ever been re-built. Anyone ever experience this problem? Solutions? Thanks, |

There could be dirt or gunk built up in the bore around the brake piston that is limiting its travel. If this is the case, you can probably repair it by pushing in the piston and cleaning up the bore. |

You guys are aware that they come with a weak rear master on purpose, right? |

Tough to bleed. Take it off the bike and tie it up higher overnight, then try again. That helps the air to find the top. Also, check you stop light switch to make sure that isn't your issue. My after-market braided line was made upside down and I had to bench bleed the whole thing. And it will never stop you no matter what you do. I has an issue at a state license test because I couldn't lock up the real wheel and show the tester that I could handle a slide, I offer to do a stoppie, but that was declined. She did pass me though! |

finally bit the bullet and rebuilt the rear master on the X1, < $15 in parts, about an hour in time, brakes bled right away. |
