Hey all Just wanted to see if there are any of you guys close to this area and what your opinion is. I’m looking at taking a job with Freightliner in Gaffney and commuting from the Spartanburg area and was looking for some insight. I was up there this past weekend and got a chance to drive around and my initial reaction was WOW I wish I had the Buell with me. I went up into Ashville in the little Saturn Vue I had for a rental and was giving it hell going and coming. The roads are so nice. What I'm not sure of is stuff like stupid local laws, taxes, are the cops a PITA that kind of stuff. Also how many of you are close by? I have a friend up there who rides (actually referred me for the Job) and said it’s about a 3 hours ride to the Gap, is that about right? Thanks for all the help guys, maybe I'll have some new riding buddies in the near future. |

you mean there might be another buell in the area. i think that will make it like 7 if you do. i'm just up here on a contract but tring to stick around after just getting laid off on friday. haven't had any issues with the law. ouside of having to pay a luxury tax on your vehicles once a year, taxes in general are lower than in florida. the roads are great to ride when you get north of here and the wheather isn't really that bad. my brother inlaw likes to say greenville is a great place to raise a family and a terrible place to party. i'm sure you'd enjoy yourself. |

There are plenty of good roads around Asheville. Come over to the SC Buellers forum; I think we have several people in the area. SC taxes aren't too bad; cost of living is considered pretty low. |

Asheville is only an hour away from several E.Tenn riders. And we are in those mountains very often. |
