I recently purchased a used 2006 xb12x uly with 17K miles. The bike is an early 06 model run. I really appreciate this site for the information I had in hand to find the worn wiring underseat and I ziptied up the throttle cables off the front plug wire. Previously I had only researched items for my wife's Blast. I have done quite a bit of research but the bike came home with some issues. I have found the problems over the past 5 days and ~70 miles of riding. 1. I tracked down the horn rattle and moved it to the reverse 10 o'clock position. 2. Fan bearings are rattling as it goes to a slower speed upon shut engine off. 3. The front rotor is progressively becoming more noticibly warped. I believe it may be due to the factory pads but I'm not positive since they are also squealing some. 4. The backrest and pegs were seized which after lubrication and working them a bit they seem to be fine. 5. The engine seems to be pinging quite often. I don't have an answer... 6. The front isolator has 1/4"-3/8" tears in the rubber. It has not failed completely but I made them aware of the issue. I contacted the dealer about these issues the next business day after the sale. The salesman was completely unwilling to work with me. I am speaking to one of the owners now about getting the bike repaired but since the dealer is 5 hours away they are not willing to have anyone local diagnose nor repair the issues. What recalls should have been completed? Assuming I can work something out with the dealer I wanted to get the PNs for the parts I may need in the future. I also wanted to get the 2007 model front springs and triple tree wiring cover. 2007 xb12x front springs: 2007 xb12x wiring protector at steering stem: xb12x cooling fan: xb12x front rotor: Thanks to everyone for all the help and information past, present and future. Rich. |

Is it still under warranty? If so they shouldn't give you any hassles over the issues your having. There are 2 or 3 recalls. There is a recall for the kickstand, one for relocating the bank angle sensor, and one for changing the bolts on the optional tall windshield. |
