Hi guys, I posted a question earlier last month on whether or not to buy a xt this year or next. I'm waiting till next year. Here is the new question... If you ordered your xt or x how long did it take to get to the dealership...and did your dealership offer you any incentives? Thanks much, Jim |

Don't expect much in the way of incentives from the dealer, the margin on Buells is smaller than on any of the H-D bikes they sell. That is also the biggest reason that it is so hard to find a salesman that won't immediately try to point you at a sportster or v-rod when you go to look at Buells. |

The msrp margins are not smaller on the Buells. Buell is in a more competitive market therefore discounting takes place to make the sale just like in most Big Japanese dealerships. Many people buy Harleys for the name therefore there are alot more "full pop" sales. IMHO the hay days are coming to an end in the next 5 years or so for HD dealers. I just don't see the newer generations buying into the "lifestyle." They need to learn how to sell their bikes. We will see. |

The lifestyle is always going to be there but the gas price is going to murder the crowd numbers at Daytona, Sturgis and the rest. Instead of riders going to a rally or two each year, they'll be hard pressed to go to even one every other year. |

I've met Andy and he is a really great guy. Really does not give off a salesman vibe...seems like a "real" person. I know he served in the Marine Corps and it shows. Good guy and I plan on ordering a Buell xt in April from him. I live right here in Appleton. So, how long does it usually take to order a buell? I'm planning on paying sticker but am curious if they ever throw in freebies or discounts. Thanks for the advice. |

Mine arrived in about four weeks.....two less than my salesguy projected. Paid msrp for a new model in it's first production run, and that's just fine with me. It is exactly the bike I wanted. The XT will be one of Buell's top sellers IMO. Freebies/discounts vary by dealer it seems. I didn't really expect any discounts, but I did score some HD swag. Good luck with waiting till next April...........don't know how you'll make it. |

Thanks Ulyranger, I wouldn't mind some HD swag either...I've just heard of some dealerships throwing in extra's but I suppose they don't need to on a buell. Taking the wife to the Buell demo days in Appleton this weekend. Hope we both like the 2up and 1up quality of the ride. Planning on ordering one in April. I am not sure how I will be able to wait either, but once the leaves start to change colors it will probably get worst. Thanks, Jim |
