I've been really entertained by his tales of woe. Has he fixed all his problems (must only be a matter of time until everything is new) or has he thrown himself and the X1 off a nearby cliff? Grovskopa, where are you? |

Yeah I miss his messages -- although he may be on holiday -- they do get a lot of paid time off in those socialist countries -- Bneck |

Shoot, for all we know, it had some unperformed recall, and hauled off and killed him. |

Haha flattering!!! =D I went away from home to do some work in another city. Kinda just pushed the X1 out of my mind.. Not that it was easy since Swedish summer just started and all my friends took their bikes out =( Every time I think of it I get depressed. I called the local (local and local... 400km away) sportster doctor and he said he could fix it (cylinder + gearbox) for around 2000EURO (I guess about 3700USD!!!) That made me even more depressed. I honestly have no idea what to do with the piece of crap =( |

BTW I might have realized why 4th gear disappeared. I do a lot of gear shifting without the clutch and have always done so with all my bikes. I heard it is no good idea with a Buell/HD though.. |

power shiftingBAD! The gear ratios are to far apart for that. Gro you can do the cylinder and piston yourself. It's pretty straight forward with a few cheap tools. The transpay someone who knows their stuff! |

Than again, for that kind of money you can Ebay an engine and slap your heads and cam on it. |

For that kinda money + what I paid for the Buell I could get a brand new 08 bike... |

Stick with it mate. It will be worth it, AND you'll learn something. The '08 bike is somewhat more refined than your X1. Not the same thing. Once your X1 is sorted, you'll never look back. |

i feel your pain! for what its worth, i got rid of a pristine M-2 and bought an 08 model... the 08 runs like poop at low speeds and no race ecm is available...i have to take it in next week to see if anything can be done about it, but i was told not to be too optimistic... i should have kept the M-2 .. im about to wear out a clutch, just to take off from a light.. |

Was speaking about a 08 Ducati or Triumph (Sorry) I might try to fix it on my own,., If it was winter/autumn it would be no problem but it is SUMMER now and I NEED A BIKEEEEEEEEEEE |

Plenty of support here, and the knowledge vault, of course. Good luck. |

I am hoping it is the oil ring that might've broken That would be quite easy and cheap to fix |
